CHS ALL SPORTS BOOSTER CLUB BACKGROUND

The current organization of the Conway High All Sports Booster Club began in 1983 by a group of people who wanted to provide support to Conway High School for the athletic program.

 

 

PURPOSE OF THE BOOSTER CLUB:

To hold and distribute funds for charitable or other eleemosynary purposes; operate for the promotion of the welfare of the students, and particularly the student athletes of Conway High School; advance the common good of Conway High School, its faculty, and the community of Conway.

 

 

THE PURPOSE IS ACCOMPLISHED BY:

Promoting and supporting the Conway High School athletic program within the guidelines of the Horry County Department of Education and the administration of Conway High School as it pertains to extra-curricular activities.

 

  • Actively initiating, promoting, and supporting selected fundraising projects

 

  • Actively soliciting funds to support all athletic programs

 

  • Actively soliciting membership into the organization

BOARD STRUCTURE/TERM OF SERVICE

 

  • The Conway High School All Sports Booster Club Board of Directors consists of 30 members.  These members represent CHS Booster Club program interest and help implement the program.  They are nominated by current members of the Board, screened by the Executive Board, and are accepted by Board vote.

 

  • Board members are asked to serve a three-year term. After term, rotate off.

 

  • By recommendation of board members a member may be reassigned another term as specified by the Executive Board.

 

  • Board officers are nominated by the Executive Board and are elected by Board vote.  An officer may serve a maximum one-year term in the same office.

 

  • Nominations for new board members take place annually at the April board meeting.  Nominees are then screened and recommendations for membership are made at the May meeting.  Board terms run from June 1 – May 31.

 

  • Each board member will serve on a committee as appointed by the Executive Board.  Committee service will be for a minimum term of one year per committee.  New assignments may be requested at that time.

 

 

GUIDELINES FOR BOARD MEMBERS

 

  • Must be a Booster Club member

  • Must attend 50% of Board meetings

  • Serve on at least one committee each year

  • Participate in at least three major fundraising events:  Membership, Raffle, and Golf Tournament

  • Promote attendance at all CHS athletic events
